How does online buying a discount ticket work?
Our online booking service allows you to book and prepay for parking in a limited number of municipal car parks. We are increasing the number of car parks included in our online booking system.
The system recognises your licence plate or QR code and allows you to enter the car park. If you leave the car park within the pre-booked parking period, you do not need to go to the payment machine first. I want to book a parking space online. How do I do it?
You can book parking online through our online booking service at
www.parkereninrotterdam.nl. To see the car parks included in our online booking service, click Booking online. If you can book online, this is listed as an option on the page about the car park. Our Parking Discount Vouchers are listed on our homepage and they can all be booked online. Our online booking service will ask you to enter a date and a time. Click Find offers to see a list of the parking products available at each car park. Choose a product, then click the green Select button to confirm your choice. Then complete the following steps:

Once your payment has been processed, you will automatically receive email confirmation of your booking. The email will provide further instructions.
Which car parks can I book online?
At the moment you can online book parking in our Schouwburgplein 1, Schouwburgplein 2, Kiphof, Oude Haven, Erasmusbrug, Museumpark, Meent en Boompjes car parks. You will also be able to book parking in other municipal car parks online in the near future. These car parks are listed on the website.
Do I have to pre-book?
No. You can use any of our car parks without booking in advance. But booking online is much cheaper, making our competitive rates even more competitive.
Will a parking voucher be sent to my home address?
No. When you drive into the car park, the parking system will recognise your licence plate number or the QR code.
Will I receive email confirmation of my booking?
Yes. Once your payment has been processed, confirmation of your booking will be sent to the email address you provided.
How do I change or cancel a booking and how far in advance should I do this?
To change a booking, you first need to cancel it. Bookings can be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to the start of the parking period. In the email confirming your booking there is a link that allows you to cancel the booking. You will then receive an automatically generated email with a credit voucher for the amount in question (a coupon code equivalent to the value of the cancelled booking). This credit voucher will be valid for one year from the date on which you cancelled the booking in the car park you booked.
Can I drive into the car park before the start of the booked parking period?
Yes, you can drive in as usual. However, it is important to bear in mind that your booking will be recognised from 30 minutes before and up to 15 minutes after your booked parking period. If you arrive more than 30 minutes before the start of your booked parking period, the parking system will not recognise the booking and the standard rate will apply.
To give you an example, let's say you drive into the car park at 14:01 and drive out again at 18:00, but you booked parking from 14:30 to 17:30.
You arrived prior to the start of your booked parking period, so the system will have recognised your booking. However, before driving out, you will need to pay for the extra 15 minutes at the standard rate.
What payment methods are accepted?
When booking online you can pay by iDEAL, Mastercard or VISA. If you exceed the booked parking period, you will need to pay for the additional parking at the payment machine, in which case the standard rate will apply.
What should I do if the system does not recognise my licence plate number or if I have any other problems driving in or out?
At every entrance and exit there is an intercom that will connect you to the staff in our control room. They will be able to help.
Will I receive a receipt for my payment?
Yes. Your receipt will be attached to the email confirming your booking.
I selected the wrong day(s) and/or time(s) in my booking. How do I correct this?

I am getting an error message when I try to make a payment with iDEAL. What should I do?
Press the F5 key. If you still get the same message, check whether your bank is currently experiencing technical issues with iDEAL payments.
How do I enter the car park using my booking?
Licence plate number
As you approach the barrier the parking system will recognise the licence plate number specified in your booking. The ticket dispenser will automatically issue a ticket. This may take a few seconds.
You do not need to press the button for a ticket.
Licence plate entry
- Drive up to the ticket dispenser at the entrance. The parking system may take a few seconds to recognise your licence plate number.
- Once the system recognises your licence plate number, the ticket dispenser will automatically issue a ticket. You will need this ticket when you return to the car park in order to exit the car park. If the parking system takes more than a few seconds to recognise your licence plate, press the button on the intercom for assistance. Have your booking confirmation handy.
- When leaving the car park, insert your ticket in the ticket reader. If you leave during the booked parking period, the barrier will raise. This may take a few moments. If you park for longer than you booked, you will have to pay for the additional parking at the payment machine, in which case the standard rate applies.
QR code entry
If you are entering with a QR code, you will need to hold the QR code (as a
print at home ticket or on your mobile phone) in front of the scanner as you drive in.
- Drive up to the ticket dispenser at the entrance. The parking system may take a few seconds to recognise your booking.
- Once the system recognises the QR code, the ticket dispenser will automatically issue a ticket. You will need to keep this ticket safe. If the parking system takes more than a few seconds to recognise your QR code, press the button on the intercom for assistance. Have your booking confirmation handy.
If I book parking, am I allocated a particular space in the car park?
No. You can park in any available parking space.
How do I exit the car park?
Insert your ticket at the exit barrier. The barrier will automatically go up.
What happens if I park for longer than I booked?
You book parking for a specific period. This period will differ depending on the Discount Voucher. If you exceed your booked parking period, you need to pay for the additional parking at the standard rate. You do this at the payment machine. Then insert your ticket at the exit barrier and the barrier will automatically go up.
Will I receive a refund if I park for less time than I booked?
No. You will not receive a refund. So be sure to choose the right discount voucher for your visit to Rotterdam.
How far in advance do I have to book parking?
You can book parking up until 1 hour before the start of the parking period you want. You can book parking up to 62 days in advance.
Where can I order car park exit tickets and parking vouchers?
Car park exit tickets and parking vouchers are prepaid parking cards that companies can purchase for their customers. These parking cards help offset the cost of parking in municipal car parks in Rotterdam. There are several kinds of exit tickets and parking vouchers: one-day exit tickets, 24-hour parking cards, vouchers worth a certain amount of money, vouchers valid for a certain period of time and evening parking cards. Anyone can apply for a parking subscription for our municipal car parks (this is not yet possible for our P&R car parks). The only condition is that there must be a space available. It is very easy to apply for a parking subscription through
