Self-service collection lockers for online deliveries in municipal car parks

Residents, visitors, employees and business people can collect online deliveries from self-service collection lockers in the Schouwburgplein 2 and De Boompjes municipal car parks any time of the day or night, 7 days a week. Rotterdam is the first municipality in the Netherlands to install the self-service collection lockers designed by de Buren.

The lockers, which can be used by anyone, provide another option for the collection of parcels and online orders. The code on the collection slip opens the pedestrian door to the car park and the relevant locker.

The possibilities are endless

Besides enabling parcel delivery, the lockers can also be used to deliver parts overnight, so engineers and fitters have the right parts for their first job the next day. Or to deliver repeat prescription medication. Shoppers will also benefit, since there will soon be the option of hands-free shopping in Rotterdam. While customers are shopping, retailers will place their purchases in a locker so customers don’t have to carry their shopping with them. Customers can then collect their purchases later the same day.
