New parking rates in Rotterdam

Park for less in municipal and P&R car parks

Rotterdam wants to reduce the number of vehicles on roads in the city centre. So, on-street parking is now more expensive. But it costs less to park in municipal car parks. And, at weekends all P&R car parks are free if you travel into the centre on public transport.

The Municipality of Rotterdam wants to create more space for greenery and terraces in the city centre. Streets lined with cars do not fit with the image of a ‘city lounge’. So, as of 1 January on-street parking has become more expensive. But, it costs less to park in municipal car parks in the city centre as well as P&R car parks.

Parking rates
If you want to park in or around the city centre, municipal car parks are now much cheaper than on-street parking. These municipal car parks are identified by a green sign with a white ‘P’ for parking.

P&R car parks
At the weekend, all 15 Park & Ride car parks in Rotterdam are free if you travel into the centre on public transport. In the Slinge, Kralingse Zoom and Alexander P&R car parks you pay €2:00 per day during the week, if you continue your journey with an OV-chipkaart.

So if you drive into the city, use a municipal or P&R car park!
